Alamaze Orders Submission Program

Welcome to the Alamaze Submission Program. Please read the instructions on how to properly enter orders into this system.

Would you like to:

Submit your orders using the previous turns results Submit orders without using the previous turn results

RECOMMENDED

This version reads your current turn's data (that you have to upload), and compares the orders to the uploaded turn data to make sure that the orders you entered will actually process correctly.

For instance, the order '350 GE VO' (Relocate Emissary) is a valid order. This program will make sure that you have an emissary with the designation of 'GE', and it can issue a 350 order (Kings/Queens and Regents can't use this order to move), and it is within its movement distance to area 'VO'.

This version only checks to see if the orders you entered are syntactically correct. By 'syntactically' the system looks at your orders and makes sure that the column you entered for each order matches the basic requirements for that order.

For instance, order 350 (Relocate Emissary) requires an emissary designation for Column B, and an area for Column C. 'GE' for Column B is a valid emissary designation, while '500' is not. This system will accept '350 GE VO' as a valid order, but this system has NO idea if your kingdom has an emissary with the designation of 'GE'. Please use this version as a last resort. If you can't get the 'Submit your orders using the previous turns results' version working, then you can use this version. But it's not as functional as the other one.

(Now allowed for games that have turns past turn 51. You can now have a game that goes up to turn 99.)

10/29/2008: The machine running the application is having DNS issues. There is a way to get around this problem, by editing your local machines 'hosts' file. There are instructions on how to do this on this webpage. You can also google for instructions on editing the hosts file. This fix SHOULD work, it's not guarnteed to work, but it's the current best bet. If you decide to edit your hosts file, add the following line:

216.110.12.160 alamaze.donut.dhs.org

4/26/2006: The newest batch of orders (699,741,742,743, and 744) have been added into the 'Submit orders without using the previous turn results', and will be in both shortly.

Note to Players: If you have any problems with this program, please contact Dana Huyler.

Privacy Note: If you just use the program to send in your orders, the program compiles and mails your orders to the email address you provided and to alamaze@aol.com. (This provides a bit of verification of submitted turns: if you try to fake someone else's turn submission, and you use their email address, they'll get a copy of it - and if you don't use their email address, there's a discrepancy that Pegasus can pick up on.) No record is kept of what orders you sent, and your email is as private and secure as any other email. If you receive a copy of the email back, you have verification that the program performed properly and was able to send the mail off, although it is still possible for Pegasus to have problems receiving it.

If you opt to store your kingdom profiles on the web server, this is somewhat less secure. We cannot guarantee that this web server will not be broken into. Dana and/or I, in the maintenance of these webpages, have access to the profiles, and could conceivably snoop on them, although we promise not to. We think that these are very minor risks, but we thought we'd mention them to be absolutely clear. If you're paranoid, don't use the kingdom profiles.
